How to play
Each day you get one paragraph about one subject, with most of its words hidden behind black strips. The letter tiles above the paragraph show how long the answer is.
- Reveal. Tap any black strip to uncover that word. You have seven reveals per puzzle and you choose every one of them.
- Hints. Every two reveals earns one hint. Tap the eye under a hidden letter tile to uncover that letter. Hints are counted separately from reveals.
- Guess. Type into the letter tiles whenever you like. Guesses are unlimited and cost nothing; the puzzle submits itself once every tile is filled.
- Give up. The button above the bottom bar reveals the whole paragraph and ends the day unsolved. Your streak resets.
- Streak. Solve the daily puzzle on consecutive days to build it. Playing an older puzzle from the archive never changes your streak.

The daily reminder
Finish a puzzle to reach the result screen. The Daily reminder card there has a switch: turn it on and Peeled will nudge you once a day. Tap the time under the switch to change it. Turn the switch off to stop the reminder entirely.
The reminder is scheduled locally by your phone, so it works with no connection. If nothing arrives, check that notifications are allowed for Peeled in your device settings, and that Focus or Do Not Disturb is not silencing it.
Past puzzles
Tap the Peeled mark, then Past puzzles, for a calendar of every day since launch. The last seven days are always open to play, and any day you already finished stays open so you can see the result. Older days you never played are locked; a one-time unlock for them is planned for a later update.
If a day says Not yet or Out of puzzles, that date falls outside the set of puzzles in your copy of the app. Updating to the latest version adds more days.
Sound and colours
Tap the Peeled mark for the menu. Sound toggles the game's sound effects. The palette icon in the header switches between the three colour schemes: Paper, Peel and Noir.
Resetting your progress
Peeled keeps your progress, streak and statistics on your device only, and there is no account behind them. To clear everything, delete the app from your device and install it again: the operating system removes its stored data along with it, and Peeled starts from zero.
This cannot be undone, and we have no copy to restore, so do it only if you really mean to lose the streak.
Something broken?
Tell us the model of your phone, the iOS or Android version, the app version, the puzzle number shown in the header, and what happened. That is usually enough to find it.
